Photoshop Business Card Setup Guide - Visting Card



This is a step-by-step guide for setting up a proper Photoshop file
from scratch with the correct image specifications.

Step 1.
Launch the Photoshop application.
Choose File > New (Ctrl-N)(as shown below in Figure.1)
Size the image by setting width to 1088 and height to 638. Then set the resolution to 300dpi and Color mode to CMYK color. (as shown below in Figure.2)

Step 2.
Design Your Business Card.Go ahead and design your business card, but remember to leave room to cut. It's a good idea to make guides for yourself, approx 1/8" inches inside of the edge for guides.

Step 3. Save Finished Artwork After you design your business card you are ready to save your file.

First its a good idea to save a .psd with layers because you need to save your artwork as a flattened .tif file without layers.
Choose File > Save As (Shift+Ctrl+S) and choose TIFF format from the dropdown menu and uncheck the "Layers" tab and save it to your computer (as shown in Figure.4 and Figure.5 below).
